Rent is going up all over the city, and for the veggie-centric Red and Black Cafe (see story, page 72), it's about to double . According to employees at the worker-run collective, the building's new owner, North Rim Development , informed them of the hefty increase this spring. The collective will likely move, but wants to stay in the 'hood. North Rim was not available for comment before press time. >> Bittersweet news: Le Pigeon 's stellar brunch is flying south, well, forever. The East Burnside destination (738 E Burnside St., 546-8796) is ditching brunch effective immediately. The bright side? The bird's open for dinner seven nights a week from now on. >> More delish dinner news: Downtown lunch counter Blueplate (again, see story, page 72) will open for lunch and supper Tuesday-Friday. Hooray! The catch? It's only serving until 8:30 pm. Boo.
