Just when I had lost all hope in men, I met the most amazing
guy. He is honest, sensitive, caring, funny, passionate,
affectionate...everything I'd always hoped for in a partner.
I felt like I knew him from the moment we met. But there
are two major problems: 1) he just recently went through
a painful break-up which has left him very bitter--he says
that he is not ready to be in another relationship so soon
because he needs time to recover; and 2) I am older than
he is, which he equates with being more worldly and experienced
and that intimidates him.
In one breath he tells me that I deserve someone better
than him and should find someone else, yet in the next he
says that he cares for me and doesn't want to stop seeing
me and he feels guilty for the pain this is causing me.
So what should I do? I am falling in love with this guy
and am torn between the urge to flee before getting in too
deep or being patient and waiting this out. How do I know
if what I am feeling is truly love and not some romantic
illusion? How do I know if he is worth waiting for? How
do I know if he is "The One"?

Is it fair that he uses your slight advantage in age to
